We are pleased to announce that Alison Morton, CFRE, has been appointed as Practice Manager where she will lead and expand Valtas’s Development Practice, partnering with nonprofit organizations to build the capacity, leadership, and strategies needed to achieve lasting mission impact.

Alison brings more than 20 years of experience partnering with nonprofit CEOs, boards, and executive teams to strengthen organizations through leadership transition, comprehensive fundraising strategies, and organizational acumen. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations align people, systems, and resources to create resilient fundraising programs, build cultures of philanthropy, and position organizations for long-term sustainability.
Meet Alison
Prior to joining Valtas, Alison served as Chief Advancement Officer at Kindering, where she helped guide the organization through multiple CEO transitions, including founder succession, while leading a fivefold increase in philanthropic revenue. Alongside a community of supporters, she played a key leadership role in three concurrent capital campaigns, strengthened board engagement and governance, and diversified revenue into a mix of philanthropic and stable earned income. Earlier in her career, Alison held fundraising leadership roles with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and International Development Enterprises, designing comprehensive fundraising strategies and cultivating transformational partnerships.
A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) for more than a decade, Alison is recognized for her relationship-centered leadership style and her ability to help organizations navigate complexity while maintaining momentum, culture, and mission focus. Her experience spans executive transition, fundraising strategy, capital campaigns, board governance, organizational effectiveness, donor engagement, and leadership development.
Expanding Valtas’ Development Services
As Practice Manager, Alison will lead Valtas’ Development Practice by partnering with nonprofit organizations at every stage of their fundraising journey, including leadership transitions. Building on the’ integrated approach to leadership consulting at Valtas, the development practice will help clients strengthen philanthropic capacity through executive search, interim advancement leadership, fundraising assessments, and project-based initiatives including campaign and growth readiness, development strategy, and leadership transition planning.
