Kate Tibone

Kate Tibone is a nonprofit Executive Director, nonprofit consultant, and board advisor with more than 20 years of experience leading organizations through transition, growth, and strategic change. She works with organizations nationally and globally in fractional, contract, and project-based roles.
Kate has served in senior leadership roles across the nonprofit, academic, and philanthropic sectors, with experience spanning global health, youth development, and advocacy. Her background includes leadership positions at Powerful Voices, the German Foundation for World Population, the University of California’s Center for Effective Global Action, and the Women’s Funding Alliance, as well as consulting with a range of mission-driven organizations.

Her work focuses on helping organizations navigate leadership transitions, strengthen operations, and align strategy with execution. She has led organizational turnarounds, redesigned programs, built and coached teams, strengthened governance, and developed cross-sector partnerships. Kate frequently serves as a fractional or interim nonprofit Executive Director, working closely with boards and staff to stabilize organizations and position them for their next phase of leadership.

Kate’s approach is grounded in listening, clarity, and practical problem-solving. She works collaboratively with nonprofit boards, staff, and stakeholders to assess challenges, identify priorities, and implement solutions that are both strategic and actionable. Her focus is on creating the structure, alignment, and momentum organizations need to move forward with confidence.
She serves as a nonprofit board member and advisor and is deeply committed to advancing equity and community-centered leadership. Her career has taken her across eight cities and three continents, shaping a global perspective and a strong orientation toward building meaningful, connected communities.

Outside of her professional work, Kate enjoys yoga, knitting, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her family.
