We are pleased to announce the appointment of Gloria Hatcher-Mays as the new Executive Director of Rainier Valley Food Bank.
Gloria previously served as Executive Director of the Pike Market Senior Center & Downtown Foodbank. She also served in the Seattle Mayor’s office and Human Services Department, managing the successful implementation of strategic initiatives and improving community outreach.
Prior to that, Gloria spent 25 years in corporate senior management, designing and implementing total quality management and service delivery programs.
“The Rainier Valley has been important to me and my family my entire life. My grandparents were farmers who moved to the Seattle area from Yakima and spent their early married life making friends and establishing a community in the Valley. It is important to me that the Rainier Valley continues to be home to a diverse and thriving community, and that residents who may be experiencing the stress of food insecurity are heard and receive respectful service.” – Gloria Hatcher-Mays said.
We look forward to Gloria working with the team of committed staff and volunteers and how she will bring her fundraising skills to support RSVP’s campaign to establish the Community Food Bank and ensure that they raise sufficient funds to grow existing operations.
